What's a belief that you've let go of to build life on your terms?

Today, I want to answer the question I’m posing to you all this week: What’s a belief that you’ve let go of to build life on your terms?

I have so many, it’s hard to pick just one. But one of the most salient right now is the idea that “the answer is outside of me.” Instead, I’m coming to understand that the answer is, in fact, inside me. I’ve been on an exploration over the past 8 years (I can tell you the exact moment it started) to learn to listen to my body (which I’m realizing has more innate wisdom than my brain!) and to let it guide me.

Every time I let my brain override that little whisper inside me, I eventually learn that I’m off course. It used to take me years to course-correct. (Case in point: when I drove into San Francisco 🌁 to move there, I heard an internal whisper saying “this is not your town.” It took me four years to act on that.) Now, I listen more intently and hear it sooner, so it takes less time. That’s probably why I get so excited about experimentation as a way to evolve through life. I find it to be a less blunt instrument than other forms of decision-making, and it allows me to try something, pause, listen, and sense my way forward.

So that’s me.

How about you: What’s a belief that you’ve let go of (or are letting go of) to build life on your terms? Let me know in the comments or DM me here. I really want to hear. I’ll share back (anonymously of course) what I hear, so we can gather some group wisdom!

And forward this to a friend to use as a conversation starter.
